General Description:
As an Entry Level Diesel Automotive Technician, you will gain hands-on experience in how to perform basic vehicle maintenance services as part of a team in a multi technician shop environment. You will also become familiar with how to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety or vehicles and equipment used in the solid waste industry.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Learn how to complete basic vehicle maintenance services
- Train with mid and senior level automotive technicians to learn additional vehicle services.
- Demonstrate excellence in task completion and follow up; which includes providing clear communication and feedback about vehicles.
- Promote teamwork to deliver on expectations
- Maintain strict adherence to company policy on vehicle care and operations
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, standing, twisting, bending, and squatting.
- Perform daily shop functions such as cleaning, parts receiving/inventory/stocking, parts delivery and pick up
- General repairs, diagnose electrical systems, suspension, brake systems, drive trains, steering components, cooling systems, preventative maintenance checks, etc.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, practices, methods & equipment used to perform the functions of the position on a daily basis
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- No relocation is being offered for this position
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous vehicle preventative maintenance experience
- Previous formal automotive or diesel training

Salary: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
